The e-commerce platform, which recently augmented an existing partnership with Google to enable retailers selling on its platform to feature their products across Google in a few clicks, is expanding the availability of Shop Pay to all Shopify retailers selling on Google.
Later in 2021, retailers who enable Buy on Google, Google's native checkout flow, will be able to provide Shop Pay as a checkout option. According to Shopify, Shop Pay offers a conversion rate that is 1.72 times higher than a typical checkout, and will help independent retailers turn the discovery potential of Google into sales.
Shop Pay includes a payment button that merchants can add to the checkout process after customers click on a product. The tool allows customers to save their email address, credit card, and shipping and billing information so that they can complete their transactions faster the next time they reach Shopify checkout.
Shop Pay will be expanded to all Shopify merchants selling on Google later this year, although the integration is already live on social platforms.
