At the Spring Loaded event, Apple announced that iOS 14.5 will be available for iPhone and iPad next week after an extended software beta period.
The new update inclides support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers, Apple Card Family, new Items tab in Find My app and more. An interesting feature is the ability to bypass Face ID if you are wearing an Apple Watch.
But the most important for internet marketers is Apple’s App Tracking Transparency feature. Apple will force developers to ask permission before they can use their unique Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for third-party ad tracking. Users will need to opt-in to ad tracking rather than specifically opting out in the Settings.
